HUÊ THI HOFFMASTER

Huê Thi Hoffmaster (b. 1982) is a painter whose dynamic lines and vibrant masses of color evoke calligraphic script, abstract still lifes, and conversational figures. Hoffmaster’s compositions often feature floral bouquets that blend delicate blossoms with bold splashes of color, oscillating between spontaneous creation and detailed execution. These arrangements can resemble portrait-like studies or playful scenes, with paint thickets threatening to overflow the canvas. He skillfully balances Eastern and Western aesthetics, intuition and precision, stillness and dynamism. Born to Vietnamese and American parents, Hoffmaster was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts under the guidance of Jan Baltzell, Alex Kanevsky, and Bruce Samuelson.

Hoffmaster’s work was recently featured in an exhibition at Samek Art Museum, Bucknell University titled “Your Presence/Presents Celebration”.
