SABINE MORITZ

Sabine Moritz (b. 1969) captures moments that seem frozen in time. Alternating between drawing and painting, she derives inspiration from personal memories, documentary photographs, and her immediate environment. By exploring these recurring motifs, she aims to combat the fading of memories, imbuing them with new symbolic meanings. Moritz was born in Quedlinburg, East Germany. Prior to the fall of the Berlin wall, she and her family relocated to West Germany then moving to Offenbach, and eventually Düsseldorf, where she attended the Hochschule für Gestaltung and Kunstakademie.

Moritz’s art has been widely exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions across Düsseldorf, Brussels, Paris, and London, and is part of several prestigious collections, including the Aïshti Foundation in Jal El Dib, LVMH in Paris, and Tate Modern in London.
