EDITH BAUMANN

Edith Baumann (b. 1948) lives and works in Santa Monica, CA. Baumann’s artistic practice is marked by a deep exploration of the interplay between structured forms and spontaneous gestures. Her work often reflects a meticulous attention to detail while embracing the unpredictable nature of the painting process. Baumann’s journey in the arts began wit a B.F.A from the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by an M.F.A. in painting from the University of Southern California. Her education laid the foundation for a distinguished career that includes numerous solo exhibitions, both nationally and internationally.

Notably, Baumann's work has been featured in several prominent group exhibitions, including, Emergence: Art and the Incarnation of Space at the Martin Museum of Art, Baylor University in Waco, TX. Her work is also in the public collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
